The Solid Waste Licensing Program, initially a voluntary initiative in 1985, became mandatory in 1991 and expanded in 1995 to encompass various facility operators. As of now, the program includes 724 licensees across 1,123 classifications. The Solid Waste Licensing Committee, established in 1985, advises the Commission and Department on program administration. Key aspects include periodic reviews, relevant training, and assessments aimed at improving operator knowledge. The ADEQ will gather input for future training approvals to ensure ongoing professional integrity in the solid waste sector.
