  1. Shelby Alda Principles of Design

  2. Rhythm & Movement I represent movement because I am spinning in a chair and you can see movement by my hair. I edited this with HDR toning. The timer was used. This photo represents movement because you can see that she is about to catch the ball. I used the hue/saturation tool as well the vibrance tool. Movement is shown by the curves in the water over the rocks. You can see that waves have formed.

  3. Balance Symmetrical balance is shown by the veins of the leaf. This dandelion is an example of radial balance because it is equal in length from the middle. These trees represent asymmetrical balance because there are two trees on the bottom side and one of the top side.

  4. Proportion The basketballs show proportion because they are different sizes. One is regulation size and the other is handheld. I used HDR toning on this image as well as vibrance. My sister looks like she is bigger than the barn which represents proportion. I used the vibrance tool on this image.

  5. Variety and Emphasis Emphasis is shown by the softball being a bright yellow while the rest of the image has been vibrance reduced. This photo is an example of variety because the game boxes are different sizes, shapes, and colors.

  6. Harmony and Unity The leaves show harmony and unity due to the similar and overlapping colors and shapes. All of the colors go well together and are very neutral. I cropped the image. This photo represents harmony and unity because there are similar elements in the photo. Everything corresponds with softball. I used HDR toning and contrast.
