  3. Inevitable Although winter break is long and wonderful, it is inevitable that we will have another semester of school. • Adjective • Something that can’t be stopped or avoided; it’s going to happen

  4. Integral It is integral to take state testing seriously and do well otherwise people will think MRHS students are dumb. • Adjective • Essential or extremely important

  5. Arbitrary My mom is arbitrary when she enforces curfew because sometimes I’m grounded for being late but other times she doesn’t care. • Adjective • Not based on logic; random

  6. Epitomize Deceit and lies are epitomized by Lady Macbeth. • Verb • To perfectly represent or symbolize something; a perfect example • Noun=Epitome

  7. Gratuitous Mike is such a kiss up because he always gives gratuitous compliments to the boss. • Adjective • Something unneeded or unnecessary; extra

  8. Militant My teacher is militant about tardies and will give a detention for being even a second late to class. • Adjective • Passionately or vigorously devoted to something (a cause)

  9. Asinine It is asinine to attempt to rob a bank using a water gun. • Adjective • Extremely stupid or foolish (of or like an ass…)

  10. Dilapidated The dilapidated house had peeling paint, an overgrown yard, and several broken out windows. • Adjective • Run down, shabby, in need of repair.

  11. Destitute After Hurricane Sandy, many people were destitute and needed help from the Red Cross. • Adjective • In great need; impoverished
