Présentation du « High pT workshop at LHC » • Objectifs du workshop : • Donner l'opportunité aux physiciens expérimentateurs et théoriciens de se rencontrer pour discuter des derniers résultats de physique au LHC, à RHIC ainsi que des derniers développements théoriques. • Mettre l'accent sur la physique à hauts pT (jets, photons, corrélations, sondes dures en général) mais aussi sur les derniers résultats dans les collisions pA. • Les sujets principaux du workshop en 2013 : • Nuclear modifications of the parton distribution functions • High pT jet production in pp, pA and AA • High pT parton propagation in matter • Nuclear modifications of the fragmentation functions • Correlations with leading particles • Direct photon and heavy flavor tagging • 2014 : 10ème édition de ce workshop • Les années précédentes : • 2013 : LPSC, Grenoble (environ 48 inscrits)‏ • https://lpsc.in2p3.fr/Indico/internalPage.py?pageId=3&confId=895 • 2012 : Institute of Particle Physics, CCNU, Wuhan (environ 87 inscrits)‏ • http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=181834 • Avant : 2012 Hanau, 2011 Utrecht, 2010 Mexico, 2009 Prague, 2008 Tokaj, 2007 Jyvaskyla, 2006 Trento

  3. Bilan de workshop précédent Constat : Pas assez d'inscrits d'après le comité d'organisation international ! Réflexion en cours qui est née de ce constat. Quelques pistes : • Le comité international souhaite s'ouvrir à d'autres manip: • Jusqu'à présent, 2 personnes (J. Rak et A. Morsch) d'ALICE + 2 théoriciens • To my opinion (J. Rak), the options are: • 1) Enlarge the organization committee: let's have somebody from ATLAS (Cole, Milov or?), CMS (Rolands ?) Some powerful person like XNW? • 2) Convert workshop to conference. I am e.g. on OC of "primordial QM Egypt" This is much smaller event then our workshopand it is a conference. • 3) Enlarge bit the scope. Jemie Nagle complained a bit that the title should be "International Workshop on High-pT Physics at LHC and RHIC"  • 4) Invite outstanding speakers and post the list on web and POSTER (like we could do with Edward, Barbara, Boris, Ivan, Armesto etc.)‏ • As for the Nantes workshop. I would suggest to have soon: • 1) web page draft • 2) fixed the date. Is the September 2 -5 (Tue-Friday) slot good enough? • 3) Registrants list should be generated automatically. • 4) First announcement February 2014 latest, but probably December 2013 could be better, right? • 5) We should announce the meeting also in inSpires and some public servers.  • 6) We need to have an idea on financial issues: reg fee, and support for invited speakers/students.

Premiers éléments d'organisation • Date : 8 au 12 septembre 2014 (à vérifier)‏ • 50 personnes (au minimum) -> prévoir toujours infrastructure pour 100 • Lieu : Subatech (voir si pas de conflit d'interet avec la fac par rapport a la demande de financement faite)‏ • Frais d'incription : 150 euros / personne au plus • Nombre d'invités : sera à définir avec le comité d'organisation international • Social event : 1 apéro de bienvenu (pas obligatoire), 1 restau, 1 visite

  6. Aspects techniques / implications Page web : Magali, Alexandre, Tanja, Sophie s'en chargent -> indico, science conf ? Inscriptions : azur colloc (Tanja / Pascaline ?) Poster : Bernard, Alexandre, Magali Organisation restauration/pause café en local, social event : Bernard ? Tanja : qui est la, qui participe a quoi, visite, gestion personne inscrite, letttres d’invit Severine : mission des invites Pascaline : gestion des inscrits, gestion des recettes. Si gestion par CNRS (azur colloque) payant 15 euros/personne, sinon universite mais pas pratique. Pour ouvrir le colloque : 2 mois au plus tard fin decembre. Demander a DGM juste avant
