  1. S3TAIR ProjectSite Validation Visits Finding excellence, learning about effective implementation

  2. Introducing your Regional Facilitators • NYC: Mary Ann Jordan • Long Island: Harold (Harry) Dean • Hudson: Mary Catherine (M.C.) Moran • East: Job Thomas • Mid State: Thomas (Tom) Bull • Mid West: Jacqueline (Jackie) Czamanske • West: Charlene Harris

  3. A quick update . . . • S3TAIR seeks to find schools with effective, evidence based practices in literacy instruction, positive academic and behavior interventions and supports, and/or effective special education instruction. • A site visit is part of the process of validating these practices • Validated practices will be highlighted on in a Clearinghouse online, and validated schools will have the opportunity to apply for a grant to collaborate with Replication Schools as peer mentors

  4. Site Visit Teams • Site visitors will include the Project Regional Facilitator, the Coordinator of Field Facilitation, and a member of the Task Force who is an IHE faculty person and has expertise in the area of the nomination • Visits will generally take 1 full day; larger programs may require more. • A pre-visit orientation call and a post-visit consensus call are required, as is completion of the site visit protocol to remain part of the Project documentation

  5. Current Nominations & Site Visit Status • Currently, there are 58 nominations • Not all regions are represented well in nominations, nor are all three practices well represented in nominations from each region • Two site visits have been completed and as of Monday, 11 had been scheduled

  6. What we need from you • We need more nominations from some regions (a list of current nominations is being distributed today) • We need your participation as site visitors • We need your collaboration with us in the regions to support • We need your collaboration with Replication Schools (two per region), as needed, to provide professional development in implementation of their Quality Improvement Plan • We need your support in replication of these practices in schools that are not chosen as Replication Schools (there’s an initiative for that, too!
