  1. THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IS THE CALLED OUT

  2. THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IS THE CALLED OUT The Bible identifies the church in a number of ways – it is the called out, the family of God, the kingdom of God and of Christ, the body of Christ, the temple of God and the vineyard of the Lord. In this lesson we will observe that the church of Christ is “the called out.”

  3. WHY THE CHURCH IS THE CALLED OUT ECCLESIA - THE CALLED OUT THE UNIVERSAL CALLED OUT THE LOCAL CALLED OUT

  4. THE CALL THE PURPOSE OF THE CALL THE NATURE OF THE CALL THE MEANS OF THE CALL THE HOPE OF THE CALL

  5. THE PURPOSE OF THE CALL CALLED INTO FELLOWSHIP CALLED TO PEACE CALLED TO BE CHILDREN CALLED TO BE SAINTS

  6. THE NATURE OF THE CALL CALLED OF GOD CALLED WITH A HOLY CALLING CALLED WITH A HEAVENLY CALLING

  7. THE MEANS OF THE CALL THE SUFFERINGS OF CHRIST THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST

  8. THE HOPE OF THE CALL HOPE DEFINED THERE IS ONE HOPE IT IS A LIVING HOPE

  9. HOPE DEFINED Hope is desire + expectation. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

  10. HOPE DEFINED Hope is desire + expectation. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

  11. HOPE DEFINED Hope is desire + expectation. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

  12. HOPE DEFINED Hope is desire + expectation. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. (Rom. 8:18-25)

  13. THERE IS ONE HOPE There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Eph. 4:4-6)

  14. IT IS A LIVING HOPE IINCORRUPTIBLE UNDEFILED DOES NOT FADE AWAY RESERVED IN HEAVEN

  15. IT IS A LIVING HOPE Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5)

  16. ARE YOU AMONG THE CALLED OUT? If you are not yet among the “called out,” God and Jesus are calling you, even now, through the sufferings and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Won’t you answer the call by rendering obedience to the gospel, while we stand and sing?
