Go Back In Time Go and Teach Matt 28:19-20 Acts 2 Joe 2:28 ¶ And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Mt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Jesus said build it.

Jesus Was Preached, The Gospel Was Obeyed and The Church Was Est. • Vs 23--- death of Jesus • Vs 24,31--- Resurrection • Ac 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Ac 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. • 42 ¶ And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. • Ac 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, • 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: • Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; • 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, • 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

  8. The Church Can Exist Today • 1 The Gospel is obeyed • Rom 1:16 • Acts 2:41,47 2 Continuing in the apostles doctrine Ac 2:42 ¶ And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers

  10. Denominations Are divisions • Not in the Bible. • Ignores the prayer of Christ. Jn 17 • 38 thousand divisions • This doesn’t ansewer the prayer of Christ • 1Co 1:10 ¶ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. • Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

  11. Denominations Ignore the Oneness of the Church • Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; • 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, • 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. • Paul gives the seven ones

What Church Are You Member Of? • Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, • 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. • Bride • Kingdom of God Ac 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. • Family of God Eph 3:14 ¶ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, • 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

  13. But, But, But, But • Good People. Jesus did not die to make people good • Acts 10 • He Reads his Bible. • So did the eunuch Acts 8, so did the Jews • Look at Acts 2. Where they the only ones going to heaven?

  14. We are Not Much Different! Then why do we exist?

What is the Difference? • Origin 1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:Ro 16:16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you. • Why call yourself something that can’t be found in the book?

  16. What is the Difference? • Creeds and such like • 2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: • 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

  17. What is the Difference? • Salvation by faith only • James 2 • Martin Luther did not care what the Bible said!

  18. What is the Difference? Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

  19. What is the Difference? • Impossibility of apostasy • Fall from grace- Gal 5:1-4 • Be led away-2 Peter 3:17 • Err from the truth --James 5:19 • Depart from the living God – Heb 3:12

  20. Save Yourself Ac 2:40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation."
