  2. Yorkshire Dales • Open to Y10 boys who have passed Bronze and completed Silver training during May • Runs in late June • All planning must be completed before Easter • More details at www.qegsdofe.co.uk

Flockton • Open to Y10 boys who have passed their Bronze expedition and completed Silver training during July • Runs in October (either of two weekends) • Cheaper than Dales but colder and less pretty • Parents need to pick up at finish point • All planning must be completed before May half term • More details at www.qegsdofe.co.uk

  4. Dartmoor • Open to Gold groups who have passed Silver • Run in August by arrangement • Groups taken are selected on the basis of competence and dedication • The terrain on Dartmoor is treacherous and the navigational skill requirements are high, hence numbers are limited to four groups of six
