  2. The USDA offers farm loan programs through the Farm Service Agency. Each state has a different loan program offering, so check out their website for available loans in your area. Applying for a loan through the FSA does not require a credit score, but applicants should have repayment or credit history with other creditors such as the federal government. Also, the money loaned should be used only for the sole purpose stated in the application and the type of loan availed. For example, a direct operating loan can be availed for general operating costs such as purchasing livestock, equipment, feeds, insurance, or for minor repairs to an existing farm.
