Canugan provides assistive devices, such as hand-pedaled tricycles and white canes, to individuals with disabilities in Uganda, collaborating with Carleton University and the Starkey Hearing Foundation for economic empowerment and flood relief efforts. Over 400 recipients have been supported.

Canugan’s record • Assistive Devices: 400+ recipients of assistive devices • Flood Relief: 138 people given emergency flood relief, May-June 2013 • Hearing Aids: 465 children, youth, women and men received free hearing aids (March 2013) • Carleton Collaboration: 9 students and Faculty Advisors visited Kasese to work with end-users and manufacturers to improve assistive devices (2013 and 14) • Support of local business: All assistive devices made locally or procured from Ugandan distributors to support local business and employment • Volunteer Managed: CanUgan managed completely by volunteers in Canada and Uganda
