In this economy where money is scarce and jobs are not a plenty people will begin to look for ways to make some extra money. They will look for ideas to which they can work on and probably do for themselves on a part time basis until things get better again. I remember when I was unemployed and I too was looking for a way to make some extra cash for the week. I looked at many opportunities that were presented to me but none caught my attention either they were too complicated or required a lot of money to start.
Until one day I was coming from a job interview and saw this guy standing on the corner of the street it was a very hot day. And I noticed that he was holding a bunch of bottled water in his hands. As soon as the light turned red he walked out into the street and walked in between the cars. I also noticed the man had a t-shirt and had writing on it that said "Bottled Water $1.00". Since it was a hot and humid day people were waving their dollar bills for him to come and give them cold and refreshing water.
Selling Bottled Water May be a Good Idea: I smiled for a moment as the idea soaked into me like a sponge. You mean this guy is making some extra money on this busy intersection and all he is doing is selling bottled water? This was a very busy intersection too? I'm sure he was clearing close to $100.00 dollars a day! The traffic light turned green and off the traffic went. I pulled over to watch him and see how he was doing it you know picking up some pointers. I noticed that every time there was a red light he would basically make 2 to 5 sales of water. I was like you know I could do this too! Excited I drove home and began to plan and put everything together that I needed and found my spot to sell bottled water. It was a fairly busy intersection not too bad. To tell you that not after five minutes I made my first three bottled water sales. I was excited and began to walk up and down the waiting cars shouting "Cold Bottled Water Here!"
Thinking About Selling More Bottled Water Tomorrow: Within two hours I have sold all 20 bottles and was fresh out! I cleared about twenty dollars I was excited and felt good about doing something and actually made some money in the process. Now I understand why the guy kept hustling that bottled water all day! it feels good making your own money and not depending on someone else dangling it over your head.
