  2. The Tube The Tube is the oldestunderground railway in the world . It was opened in 1863 during the Victorian Age. It ‘s the fastest way of getting around London . There are 18 underground lines. Each line has a name and a special colour.

  3. The history of the Tube The history of the London began in the 19 thcentury with the construction of the Metropolitan Railway , the world’ s first underground railway . The Metropolitan Railway in 1863 using gas- litft wooden carriages hauled by steam locomotives , worked with the District Railway to complete London’ s Circle line in 1884 .

  4. THE TUBE The London Underground is 402 km long , with 18 lines and 270 stations. There are lines that run deep or sub-surface. The Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines run sub-surface, with tunnels just below the walking surface while the others are located in depth .

  5. The most importantTube stationsin London Canary Wharf : it is located in the east of London, from this station you can see many skyscrapers and characteristic areas. LEYTONSTONE : it is located on the Central Line in the east of London. The station takes us into the tourist center of the City and also leads to Oxford Street.
