  2. Main Characters • Young unemployed members of the tribe • Wise rulers • Members of youth commission

  3. Main events A depression caused by food overabundance led to few jobs for young people. They wanted to go to university but could not afford it. Even those who went were not assured of a job. The youth busied themselves by creating games on the nearby rock pile. A few older unemployed joined them.

  4. Main EVents A few youth complained about boredom. They referenced what new-fist had done for the tribe when he invented education and insisted they needed to be working. The wise rulers heard of the unrest and dealt with it by creating a youth commission. Members represented important elements of the tribe but no youth were on the commission.

  5. Main events Professors promoted solving the problem by requiring more education and training in fish-grabbing, horse-clubbing, or tiger-scaring. industrial LEADERS SUGGESTED MANDATORY RETIREMENT WITH PENSION AT AGE 50 TO MAKE ROOM FOR YOUNGER EMPLOYEES. THE YOUNG BEGGED THE COMMISSION TO LET THEM WORK BY CREATING NEW JOBS.

  6. MAIN EVENTS THE COMMISSION MEMBERS APPOINTED A SPECIAL ADMINISTRATION TO ORGANIZE AND DIRECT LEISURE AT ROCK PILES TO ESTABLISH “THE GREATEST ROCK-PILE MOVEMENT IN PALEOLITHIC HISTORY.”

  7. HISTORICAL CONTEXT & CURRENT ISSUES CREATION OF THE CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORPS AND THE NATIONAL YOUTH ADMINISTRATION TO KEEP THE YOUTH OCCUPIED. I LIKEN THIS TO THE JOCKEYING THAT GOES ON IN EDUCATION WITH EACH NEW SWITCH IN POLITICAL POWER.
