  1. Create/Collate historical data for use by ALT, HRT • Create forward plans to facilitate better planning • The final output is a structured syllabus, which is flexible enough to cater to the needs of the students.

  2. Many differing schools, many students • Many styles of teaching • Differing school cultures • Differing competency levels of students • Many unknowns in the schedules Eg-No. of classes for each grade and school,differing pace

  3. 1. Evaluation of existing material • 2. Planning • 3. Running the lesson(s) • 4. Post lesson(s) evaluation • 5. Alteration of lessons/plans/syllabus as required

  4. Search for existing lesson plans • Collate -If this does not exist, file and collate current lesson plans as they become available. • File lesson plans, -Sort via school/ grade, sort by topics, logical sequence

  5. Consult with BOE/ HRT/ other ALTS • Yearly Planner – Plan on a high level • Plan the topic areas (see plan) • Gradual breakdown by a month/ grade level • From a text book perspective, break it down into chapters

  6. What is the aim? • Include competency goals • Set a yearly schedule of topics • Discuss this with HRT/JTE(s)

  7. Use standard templates • Include the following - Aim - Textbook references, worksheets • Materials • Research if required • Sample lesson plans

  8. Try to have a meeting with the HRT prior to the lesson • Evaluate lesson plan together • Work with the HRT/JTE

  9. Keep a log of all the lessons which have been taught (see sample) • Keep notes on what was effective and ineffective (this will vary from class to class and school to school) • Change future lessons as required • Feedback (from students and HRT, if possible)
