E-Learning vs. Traditional Classrooms By: Brin Mahovlic
Classrooms of the past are very different from what's to come. Our future classrooms will be leaps and bounds ahead in education and technology. • Past • Future
Traditional classroom • Classrooms back in the day were basically a teachers teaching students. The classrooms consisted of desks, chalkboards and educating posters and maps . It was a one on one form of learning. The teacher talked and you listened. Back then, the old pencil on paper was the only way to do it, no computers. Paper was their principal way of getting things done. Sheet after sheet of paper were continuously distributed to each student every day. Each day when the bell rings, the teacher gets to the font of the class while all the students planted in their seats and ready to listen. Discipline was enforced and was much more strict in the earlier years. Students couldn’t get away with what they do now a days.
E-Learning classrooms • Our future generation will have even better technology than we do today, which means that the classrooms in the future will be fully equipped with all the nick knacks and doo dads only certain classes can afford today. Some of those electronics would include Ipads and laptops that are available to each and every student. Each teacher’s class would be supplied with a handy smart board, to supply yet another way to learn. The students will be taught less by their teacher and spend more time surfing the internet and working with electronics. Students will see less and less paper as the years go by. Paper will not be necessary, when all you need is already found on the computer. Homework will also most likely be completed through and electrical device of some sort. Grades of the students will be hugely effected by electronics and the skills they have to use the device and successfully do their work. I honestly think that some day teachers will no longer be needed, because technology is the eras new way of teaching. As the years go by, teachers will just be supervising students and making sure they don’t get into trouble. Electronics will soon takeover in our education. Technology expands our way of thinking and doing.
In conclusion • Our world is drastically being changed by the presence of technology. Our way of learning is becoming more efficient and complex as we grow. With a classroom along the lines of one of an E-Learning class, our future generations will become a lot more worldly. Technology will make our classrooms flourish with new ideas.
