Intro • Goals for the year: • Transparency • Updated budgets online • Feel free to email me when you want to know how much money you have left • Accessibility • Email, Cell • Communication • Financial mailing list: presidents, treasurers, anyone else who wants updates • Deadlines: will notify 2 weeks in advance, give 1 week & 1 day notices

  4. How to get money from EJC (for Fall 07) • Be registered with the CLL <cll.berkeley.edu> • Be an active organization (4 registered signatories with the CLL) • Submit a Budget application formto Diana BY EMAILdownload from: ejc.berkeley.edu >> Finances >> downloads

  8. Programs vs. Miscellaneous Funds

  9. So… what can’t I get with programs funds? • Food & beverages • Travel • Off-campus activities • Advertising for off campus activities (see me) • Conference fees • Organizational dues • Letterhead stationary w/o ASUC heading • Salaries, stipends, or workstudy awards • Awards, prizes, gifts or trophies (t-shirts, speaker gifts) • Office machine rentals

  10. Requirements for obtaining money Turn in ORIGINAL RECEIPTS and a COPY of the copies you make (ie. flyers*). Must fill out an ERF COMPLETELY and turn it into me because it needs my signature What’s an ERF? *all fliers must have “ASUC Sponsored & Disability accommodations available” to be reimbursed.

  11. the expenditure request form (ERF)TEMPLATE NEED: *original receipts *copy of copies! MUST HAVE MY SIGNATURE CHECK ONE OFF! PICK UP or MAIL? PROGRAMS or MISCELLANEOUS? Your name and address! NAME OF YOUR GROUP TEAM or SOCIETY! Please do not forget! Please put how you used the money, whether it be for photocopies, or for food for your general meeting! TOTAL AMT SPENT!

  12. BUT BEFORE I SIGN THE FORM... Each group is required to email the EJC SECRETARY in advance with information about the events that we will help fund. Name of event, date, time, location, and group name to secretary@ejc.berkeley.edu These events will be added to the EJC Calendar! Please utilize this! http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~ejc/calendar/

Other $$ Sources : through ASUC • Academic Affairs Office: • Grant available for students or student groups who represent Cal in academic competitions which may require travel costs or competition fees • Academic Opportunity Fund • Grants up to $1000 available to fund curricular-related projects & events that address need to improve undergraduate academic experience at Cal. • Cal corps funds: • Funding available for groups interested in community service projects
