  2. OUR RESIDENTIAL CAMP • 60 Girl Guides took part in this event. • Senior Girl Guides helped us. • All the Girl Guide captains assisted us.

ONE OF THE KEY ACTIVITY IN OUR CAMP • Our main aim was to gain knowledge from the 3R concept. • We were thorough about the 3R concept through the practical activity. • We did a public service on the 3R concept. • We developed team spirit & team building attitudes through the 3R concept. • Parents helped & assisting us to achieve our key activities.

  4. Our main aim was to gain knowledge from the 3R concept. During the perahera season many people from other cities, countries come to Kandy to watch the perahera. At this time crowds of people flock to Kandy and the waysides are packed. When people stay in one place for a long time garbage collects very rapidly. As responsible Girl Guides , we thought that is it our duty to motivate & educate the public about the 3R concept. In order to provide this service… We learned about the 3R concept. We produced a hand-out which was based on the 3R concept. We distributed the hand-out to the public.

  5. We prepared posters on the 3R concept individually. • This poster emphasizes how to follow the 3R concept in our homes.

  6. We were thorough about the 3R concept through the practical activity. • We prepared a pamphlet which was based on the 3R concept. • This pamphlet says, that you must dump all the polythene bags, toffee wrappers , empty drink bottles ,used food packets in to the garbage bins. It is your duty. • We mentioned about the meaning of the 3R concept. • On the other side of the leaflet, we mentioned the Pali version of the gatha chanted when worshipping the Tooth Relic.

  7. We did a public service on the 3R concept. • All the 60 Girl Guides went to the town & distributed the pamphlets to the perehera spectators. • We explained about the 3R concept to the public.

  8. We developed our team spirit & team building attitudes through the 3R concept.

  9. Parents helped & assisted us to achieve our key activities.

  10. Finally We are very happy to say • Now we know what is 3R. • How to make use of it in the day-today life. • How it relates with the Girl Guide activities.
