  2. Family The Bearded Dragon (also known as the Pogona) is placed in the sub-family of the Agamidae. This is because, this family has characteristics of spiny scaled animals that are found at the neck in clustered patterns. This family also includes a threat action witch allows for them to puff up their necks when they feel in danger. So, that also applies to the Pogona witch is included in the family.

  3. Genus and species The Pogona is included in the lizard genus witch include seven species including the “Bearded Dragon”. This genus is mostly arid semi-desert regions most like the woodlands of Australia. These species include the Eastern Bearded Dragon, Inland Bearded Dragon, Lawson’s Bearded Dragon, Drysdale River Bearded Dragon, Nullabor, Mitchell’s Northwestern, and the Western Bearded Dragon. The Bearded Dragon in general is often notified as the Central Bearded Dragon.

  4. Kingdom The Pogona’s kindom is called the Animalia- Multi-cellular, and mitochondrial heterotroph.

  5. Class This Reptilealso belongs in the Reptilia class. This is because of its classification that it is in fact a reptile, because of it laying eggs for reproducing and it having the skin of scales also classifies it as a reptile which would be sorted into the Reptilian class.

  6. Phylum The Pogona’s Phylum is the cordata. The characteristics of this animal places it in the pylum like its tail that is attached to its behind for some of its life cycle and it being a animal having a vertebrate.

  7. Order This animal’s order is based on its skin which is classified by its horny scales and shields, and also because it posses moveable quadrate bones. This allows them to move their upper jaw relative to the braincase.
