  3. Objectives for the 2nd phase Enhance the “hand-in-hand” relationship between CODATA and IRDR Expending knowledge generated from Earth Observation to multidisciplinary for disaster study Bring new force to support LODGD study The white paper “Gap Analysis Report on Linking Open Data for Disaster Risk Study” will be released at early 2015. An updated version will be released at end of renewed period. Another White Paper on Next Generation Disaster Data Infrastructure will be launched in these two years. First release version is planned to generated at the end of this term.

  4. Activities • Producing a White Paper • “Gap Analysis Report on Linking Open Data for Disaster Risk Study”  • "Next Generation Disaster Data Infrastructure" • Best Practices Studies • Disaster Supersite Project from ESA • HDDS system from USGS • US Disaster Loss Data Dataset from S. Carolina University • Working on Disseminating the Awareness of Linking Open Data for Disaster Study • IRDR-DATA • TWAS-CoE • WGISS • CODATA/PASTED

  5. Expected output Articles in the CODATA Data Science Journal http://www.codata.org/dsj or other refereed Journals. Articles will be submitted by members to the CODATA’s Data Science Journal and other leading journals in the following two years. The articles will share the research outcomes from this task group, with topics ranging from the conceptual model and design of new disaster data infrastructure, methods for effectively and efficiently archiving and sharing historical disaster data, experience on developing linked open data applications on disaster mitigation, and others that will emerge from the group’s work. Reports, white papers, other publications, technical proposals etc. The white paper “Gap Analysis Report on Linking Open Data for Disaster Risk Study” will be released at early 2015. An updated version will be released at end of renewed period.Another White Paper on Next Generation Disaster Data Infrastructure will be launched in these two years. First release version is planned to generated at the end of this term. Data products, web resources, software tools etc. LODGD does not plan to create new data products. However, it encourages partner projects to build on existing data-sets in their respective data activities. For example, Beijing Normal University is working on data-set based on  China Disaster Loss Data at the recommendation of LODGD.  Conferences, workshops, meetings and associated reports (2015-2016) Task team annual meeting during CODATA (SciDataCon) or IRDR conference; Joint meeting and side meeting during related conference such as GEO/MARIS/UN-SPIDER; Training sessions at TWAS/CAS workshops for students from developing countries. Other products or accomplishments Not limited to the above, potential activities will be considered as required.
