Joint Select Committee… • Section 101, 3ESHB 2127 (2012) - "The appropriations in this section are subject to the following conditions and limitations:  $50,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 2013 is provided solely for a joint select committee on junior taxing districts, municipal corporations, and local government finance.  The joint select committee will be composed of two members from each caucus from the house and from the senate.  The joint select committee shall review junior taxing districts and municipal corporations for the purpose of evaluating their provided services and making recommendations on the appropriateness of consolidating services into a general purpose local government.  The joint select committee shall also examine new revenue options for local governments.  The joint select committee shall also review the impact of the passage of Initiative Measure No. 1183 on public safety needs, and provide a sustainable plan for the use and disbursement of excess liquor revenues.In completing its review and recommendations, the joint select committee shall seek pertinent information and advice from:  (a) Organizations representing counties, cities, and junior taxing districts; (b) counties, cities, and junior taxing districts; (c) the department of revenue; and (d) the state auditor."
