  3. What is the Crime/Mystery/Problem? Sam Westing is dead at the Westing house! Who is the murderer?

  4. What Type of Mystery is Your Novel? Suspense Fiction Alfred Hitchcock was a big part of mystery movies! • They all have a motive: 200,000,000 dollars! • This could lead to murder for inheritance. • It describes each character

  5. How is Uncertainty and/ or Suspense present your novel ? • No one knows who the murderer is! • New clues keep coming up. • Weird things keep happening (all the bombs). • Stuff keeps getting stolen. • The families stop trusting each other. • No one knows who to trust.

  6. What clues are presented in your novel? Why is it considered a clue? What does it make the reader think? All of the clues we have listed are considered clues because they are all changing the way people look at who murdered Sam Westing. They all also play an important part in changing the story and giving it a twist. These clues make the reader wonder who killed Sam Westing and who would’ve had the motive to do so. • The will • The bombing • The clues given to each pair • The robberies • Sam Westing’s names • People present during the reading of the will were all Sunset Towers residents.

  7. Who are the suspects and why do you consider them as such? Turtle Sydelle We think Sydelle could also be the murderer because she was the only one with a copy of Sam Westings will. She also seemed like a very suspicious person throughout the book especially in the beginning. We think Turtle may have murdered Mr. Westing because she was in The Westing House right before Sam Westing was proclaimed dead.

  8. How is the crime/mystery/problemsolved at the end of your mystery novel • It turns out that Sam Westing wasn’t really murdered… Through out his life, Sam Westing was 5 different persons: Windy Windkloppel,Sam Westing, Sandy McSouthers, Barney Northrup and Julian EastmanTurtle finds his fourth identity with help of a clue, in the will. She decides to keep it a secret.
