This project, initiated by Kevin Egan on October 9, 2008, aims to explore the presence of circulating osteogenic progenitor cells in lesions of non-hereditary hematopoietic origin (NHHO). The primary goal is to test a new antibody for collagen type 1 using human bone marrow tissue samples. Given that type 1 collagen is integral to bone structure and surrounds blood vessels, it is expected to be detectable in control bone samples. Previous studies highlight the importance of various collagen types in forming the mature extracellular matrix.

Project Update 10/9/08Kevin Egan • Hypothesis: Circulating Osteogenic Progenitor Cells are present in lesions of NHHO • Goal: Test new Collagen type 1 antibody in human bone marrow tissue sample • Rational: Type 1 collagen is present in all bone and around blood vessels. Should be detectable in control bone sample.
