  1. Tips to Use Duct Tape in the Outdoors Planning an adventurous outdoor activity? One of the handy tools you simply can’t leave behind is a travel duct tape. So multipurpose and reliable, it can sort out many types of mishaps that can crop up out of the blue to disturb the peace of your holiday. Some of its applications can actually augment your holiday experience. So carry along a high-quality duct tape and use it when it matters most. Wanna make a shelter in a pinch? Duct tape. Repair your broken sunglasses? Duct tape. Need to quickly fashion a pair of shorts? Duct tape. Some ways in which an outdoor duct tape comes in handy while on and adventure. In the wilderness A duct tape was originally designed to repair stuff. So, if you are planning a trip in the wilderness take along a duct tape. Supplies are sparse and multi-purpose items are priceless in the wasteland Waterproof Map Duct tape is an inexpensive way to waterproof papers and other items that need to be protected from the rain. To make a map case, start by cutting two pieces of cardboard to match the size of your map or other papers. Once you're created the template, cover the cardboard with stripe of duct tape. Be sure to overlap the edges of each piece to make it extra waterproof. Broken Ski A broken ski can mean trouble especially if your car isn’t parked close by. Use an outdoor duct tape to set it right. With a thin tree branch as a bind, tightly wrap the duct tape around the stick and both pieces of broken ski. Fix the Tent If you face the challenge of a broken tent, use a duct tape to repair it. Place the broken ends side by side, so they overlap, and wrap them tightly with tape. And if your tent refuses to close at night and stubbornly flaps in the wind, hold it close with a duct tape. Stick the door shut, and keep the bugs and critters out. Make a shelter

  2. Using a tarp and travel duct tape to make a shelter in a dash. First, perforate the tarp by piercing the plastic with a multi-tool or a sharp stick. Then, reinforce the hole on both sides with a duct tape. Make guylines with the duct tape and string them through the grommets. Then use trees, branches, rocks and logs as anchor points. Inflatable Mattress Is your expandable mattress leaky? Clean the area around the patch before sealing it with the duct tape. A circular duct tape will prevent the air from escaping. You can then have a very restful night. Duct the Clothes When you are outdoors, there are high chances for your clothes to rip or tear or your cuff to shred. Repair your clothes with the masterstroke of a duct tape. For rips, cut out a round piece of tape because the lack of corners makes it more likely to stay in place. For cuffs, fold a piece over the edge and press it smooth. Repair Sunglasses Broken sunglasses that have come apart because of a broken earpiece, loose lenses, snapped nose bridge can be fixed with a duct tape. You can wrap the nose bridge in a thin strip of duct tape. For the broken ear piece, wrap the ear piece with a wide duct tape piece, and for loose lenses, carefully outline the lens with tape to keep it from falling out. Medical fixes A painful blister that is rubbing against your clothing can be fixed by covering it with a small square of duct tape to reduce irritation. In the case of a cut apply a small amount of anti-bacterial ointment to a cotton ball and secure the cotton ball over the cut with duct tape. For removing a sliver that’s close to the skin’s surface apply duct tape tight and let it sit for about a minute. Remove the duct tape slowly to pull the sliver out. Waterproof fix Ducts are waterproof. So they are a very handy temporary patch for rain gear, water bladders, clothing, tents. You can close a hole or a tear with a layer and do the same on the other side of the hole to secure it further. Camp Clothing Wind up one or several lengths of duct tape into a cord or rope and before you know it you have a duct tape! A long piece of duct tape can be used a clothesline to dry out camp clothing Prevent Snow Blindness Forgot your glacier glasses in Base Camp? Make sunglasses using a duct tape to help prevent snow blindness and other eye injuries from bright sun on snow or water. All you need to do is cut a width of duct tape (or two) that will extend across your face and make two very narrow slits where your eyes line up with the tape. Check out the Redi-Det duct tape.
