Approval for Remediation of Illegal Waste Tire Sites Under Stabilization Program

This agenda item seeks board approval for the cleanup of illegal waste tire piles in locations where property owners are unable or unwilling to remediate. The program has successfully remediated 60 tire sites so far, and three new sites have been proposed: Garcia in Los Angeles County (3,000 tires, $6,750 estimated cost), Gyle Road in Tehama County (1,000 tires, $2,250), and Redman Investment in Kern County (8,000 tires, $18,000). With available funds of $1,234,636, the required $27,000 for these cleanups can be covered, ensuring sufficient resources for Sonoma sites as well.
