  3. Chapter 1:What is Piano What can we do with all of this empty space? I sit on the couch and brainstorm ideas. Then, it suddenly comes to me! We should put a piano their. I have always loved the piano and played it for many years so it would make sense to put piano there. I think piano is great hobby!

  4. Chapter 2: Scales and Chords Scales and chords are a big part of piano. Scales and Chords are usually played for warm-ups. Scales are where you take all five fingers and move them across they the keys. Chords are where you take three fingers and press down on the keys to gain muscle. When you are taking a piano test or competing in a piano competion, you usually play scales and chords for extra credit. Scales and chord can be different depending on what key you play them in.

  5. Chapter 3: Kinds of Pianos There are many kinds of pianos. There are big pianos that are called Grand Pianos and small pianos called Keyboards. Like other items, different companies sell Grand Pianos and Keyboards. Pianos can be sold at different prices like many items. Different kinds of pianos sound different. Some sound high and some sound low.

  6. Chapter 4: How to Read Music There are many steps you need to know to read music. • You need to know what scale you are playing in. You can find that out by looking at the top right corner of the book. • You need to know your key signature. Your key signature will be at the top left corner of the screen. • You need to know where your fingers go on the piano. You can find that out by looking at the bottom of the page. • Play the keys asked.

  7. Chapter 5: Practice Session Just like soccer tennis skiing or any other sport, piano involves practice. If you are a beginner you should practice for at least 10 minutes. If you are intermediate you should practice for at least 20 minutes. If you are advanced you should practice for at least 30 minutes. The more you practice the better you get!

  8. Chapter 6: Shops There are many places to by a piano. My favorite is called Evola Music. It is one of the best places to by a piano or music to go with it.

  9. Glossary • Keyboard– A small version of a piano. • Company– A group of people who sell things. • Grand– Big and large. • Intermediate–Middle. • Advanced–Great or big.
