This research examines the evolutionary dynamics and expression profiles of the PPHLN1 gene across primates, focusing on the role of HERV-M retroelements. By enhancing the LTR structures beyond existing Repbase sequences, a comprehensive consensus sequence was established. We analyzed insertion timings and their contributions to PPHLN1 diversification. Expression profiling across various tissues like brain, prostate, and liver reveals alternative transcripts related to HERV-M, emphasizing significant evolutionary adaptations spanning millions of years.
