  3. What needs does it fulfill? Increase in Population Increase Employment Increase in Popularity Increase in Revenue Increase in Retail Districts Increased Funding Encourage Community Participation
  4. How is it Vital? Population in 2000- 1,500 people Population in 2010- 1,916 people increase of +27.7% Estimated Population in 2013-14- Double the increased population so between 400-800 people. -Example: community college
  5. Staff Employees Architect Plumbers Construction Engineers Cashier Manager Maintenance Sales associate Tellers Process
  6. Partnerships Social Mayor The Bank Urban Green Space Program St. Louis County Property and Roads Grant Community Development Administration Parks and Green Spaces Levy and Opportunity Fund Saint Louis Police Department Community (employees) Financial
  7. Money? Government grants for parks Ex: Saint Louis Park over $350,000 in grants Urban Green Space Program 35 million dollars at the most for the project Funding: Government Grants Ex: Parks and Green Spaces Levy Opportunity Fund -Government Bonds -Bank loans -Business investments
  8. Bonds Government bonds- 21 million in tax-exempt bonds issued by the St. Louis County industrial development authority
  9. Revenue This development will make money by: Special Events - Walk of fame - Free Concerts in the Park Reinvestments/ investments back into the community TIF for businesses over 5 years
  10. Funding TIF (Tax Increment Financing) – popular, potential, powerful tool for places that need economic development The most yet have the least to spend
  11. Life Improvements Trying to decrease the unemployment rate from 12.7% Current residents Uniting the community Encouraging volunteer efforts Job opportunities for people in the neighborhood Surrounding areas Increase in neighborhood Increase in business activity
