SC Addiction Psychiatrist Dr. Joseph Markowitz is currently working as a psychiatrist at Prisma Health whilst simultaneously filling the role of Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of South Florida, allowing him to treat a variety of cases and share his experience on those cases with others. Dr. Joseph Markowitz obtained his license from the SC Department of Mental Health, after which he did his psychiatry residency at Palmetto Health Alliance.

  2. Licensed Psychiatrist and Prominent Member Dr. Joseph Markowitz is a licensed psychiatrist and prominent member of the SC Psychiatric Association, having joined the association in 2002.

Worked at Suboxone clinic While he now serves as a psychiatrist in SC, Dr. Joseph Markowitz once spent 6 years working at a Suboxone clinic for veterans during the beginning of the opioid crisis. This experience shaped him in many ways, giving him a unique perspective on the struggles that drug-addicted patients face in recovering.

Author of Numerous Medical Journals Dr. Joseph Markowitz is an experienced SC psychiatrist who received his doctorate from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Licensed to practice in SC and FL, Dr. Joseph Markowitz has spent a number of years treating patients in both states, initially spending time at the James A.
