Efficient Skin Color Detection in Face Recognition Using Erosion and Dilation Techniques

This project focuses on detecting skin color for face recognition by utilizing image processing techniques. It involves applying erosion and dilation to refine the detected skin regions. The method projects images onto the Y-axis and then the X-axis to determine potential face areas. While the approach yields results, selecting an optimal threshold is challenging, and some non-face areas remain. Future work may explore additional methods to improve accuracy and eliminate unwanted regions.

  8. Conclusion • The suitable threshold is not easily to decide. • The result still has some areas which are not face area, it might use another methods to eliminate them.
