  2. Who is that Ole Devil? • 1) An Adversary—(1 Peter 5:8) • 8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

  3. Who is that Ole Devil? • 2) A Tempter—(1 Thess. 3:5) • 5 For this reason, when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter might have tempted you and our efforts might have been useless.

  4. Who is that Ole Devil? • 3) A Deceiver—(2 Cor. 11:3) • 3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

  10. Who is that Ole Devil? • 9) An Angel of Light (2 Cor. 11:14) • 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
