  4. Background • DISC • ACVR’s Digital Imaging Standards Committee • Formed late 2004 • Develop standards for imaging • Education of vendors and clinicians • Obtain vendor support • Expand DICOM standard

  5. Goals of Working Group • Determine long-term goals • Short term goals: • Define veterinary image header tags • Develop test/demo facility for DICOM connectivity

  6. Working Group Basics • Function and scope • Subgroups shall: • Be project oriented • Have appropriate membership from interested categories represented on the Committee • Have a subgroup secretariat and secretary

Working Group Basics • Membership • Voting members • Officers nominate companies, organizations, agencies, or individuals for participation • DICOM Standards Committee will vote and appoint. • Observers • Individuals and organizations may attend meetings and submit comments, but may not vote • Dues – none • Donations – requested

  8. Working Group Basics • Attendance • No requirement to attend WG meetings • Any member that misses two consecutive face-to-face meetings • Will not count for determining a quorum • May vote in telephone conferences • Will be reinstated upon attending a f-2-f meeting • Missing four consecutive meetings converts to observer

Working Group Basics • Meeting behavior • No commercial topics. • All members are afforded adequate opportunity to present views. • Confine discussions to safety, technical, and engineering factors. • No conversations “off the record” at a meeting. • Meetings • We pick our schedule – can be all phone, or zero to many face-to-face meetings.

  10. Roadmap • Assemble documents necessary to be formally created by DICOM Committee • Tag definition • Demonstration facility
