  2. Real world problem • Problem A rental company is $150 to rent a car plus 10 cents a mile. • Equation y= .10x+150

  3. Independent and Dependent Variables • Dependent: The total cost to rent a car Independent: The number of miles driven Is this a Function? Yes Why ? Because the X values repeat.

  4. Domain and Range • Domain: the domain of a relation is the set of all coordinates from each pair x>0 • Range: The range of a relation is the set of all Y coordinates from each ordered pairs x> 150

  5. Is Domain Continuous or Discrete? It is continuous • Why? It is continuous because you can drive any amount of miles.
