Independent and Dependent Variables • Dependent: The total cost to rent a car Independent: The number of miles driven Is this a Function? Yes Why ? Because the X values repeat.
Domain and Range • Domain: the domain of a relation is the set of all coordinates from each pair x>0 • Range: The range of a relation is the set of all Y coordinates from each ordered pairs x> 150
Is Domain Continuous or Discrete? It is continuous • Why? It is continuous because you can drive any amount of miles.
The Equation • Y=.10x+150
