  7. Check-in procedures Athletes Lounge • All team member check in together. • Uniform check (name, country, logos, ITU logo, zippers) – photos taken of each uniform. Wearing other uniform during the race = DQF! • Body marking check (both arms, both legs) • 1st leg athletes-Timing chip distribution 1 for the ankle, Swim cap distribution • Athletes on 2nd, 3rd and 4th legs receive caps and chips at changeover area, Please assemble at changeover zone after start. <Insert Event Logo>

Check-in procedures TransitionArea • Bike check: handlebars & wheels (non authorized UCI wheels rule) • Helmet check- Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the transition Any athlete who fails to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. • Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike • Spare wheels to the wheel-stop • To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Race Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Athletes‘ Briefing. <Insert Event Logo>

  9. Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: • 10 minutes before start - line-up at assembly area • Jog to the start line • Select your position and staybehind the line! Athlete blocking more than one place will result DQF <Insert Event Logo>

Start Procedure Athletes in position: • The start can be given any timeafter the TD announces ”On your mark” • Air horn blast • The race starts • Hold a straight line until you reach the water Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1. <Insert Event Logo>

False Start Procedures False startExample 1: • Several horn blasts • Officials/volunteers in front of you • Everyonegoes back to her/his spot False start Example 2: • If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the athlete who false started will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1. • During the time penalty athlete can not take any equipment! <Insert Event Logo>

Transition Area • Individual Bike Racks – number, name and country flag • Running shoes in front of the box, helmet on the bike • Wetsuits(if wetsuit swim), googles & swim caps into the box. • Bags to the Athletes Lounge • Practice the flow of Transition • T1 – Rear wheel in rack, bars facing out. Run Penalty Box The penalty box is for infringements in: TA1, bike and TA2 e.g: Mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, discharge or store your equipment outside your designated area, rack the bike outside your own space etc (Transition will be videotaped for infringements) Location: 40m before the Transition Area Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board – coachesareadvisedtocheck and informtheirathletes) Procedure: 10 second time penalty served on any lap of the run If you don’t stop- DSQ

  27. Run Penalty Box Rule interpretation Mount after the mount line: It has to be one contact of the athlete foot with the floor after the mount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as mount the bike before the mount line. Dismount before the dismount line: It has to be one contact of the athlete foot with the floor before the dismount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as dismount the bike before the dismount line. Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area: Leaving the equipment s(swim cap, googles, helmet, etc.) in the designated box. Rack the bike inside your own space:. In case of Individual bike race, the bike must be racked with either wheel to the designated rack.

Post-race Procedures • “Finish area” - immediately after finish1, 2, 3 with announcer and media. • Medal Presentation - protocol –see event timings • Ceremonies will be soon after last finisher- be available. • Dress National uniform, no ambush marketing. • Prize money -top 10 finishers form available from Renato or via claim form on ETU site. <Insert Event Logo>

  29. Post-race Procedures Anti-Doping Control • Photo ID is needed for every athlete to have ready for Doping Control. • Chaperones from National Anti Doping agency. Medical • Only team medical officials area allowed in this area in case there is an athlete from their team. Every NF can have 1 team medical upgade pass, but only for team doctors! <Insert Event Logo>

Coaches areas Accreditation • Every coach has to collect accreditation to be able to enter the venue. • Only Coaches who have been registered from their NF into the ITU online system are entitled to an accreditation Additional sport-specific coaches areas • Beside the start on beach (exit via other stairs), beside transition area turn. • Upgrade pass needed to enter these areas. Passes are given by NF according to the number of athletes entered. 1-3 athletes = 2 pass, 4-6 athletes = 3 passes, 7-9 athletes = 4 passes, 10-12 athletes = 5 passes <Insert Event Logo>
