Schedule and Timelines Saturday, August 19 8:15 – 9:15 Jr. W & M Athletes’ Lounge open and check-in 8:45 – 9:30 Junior W & M Transition Area open 9:45 Junior Men Duathlon World Championships 9:47Junior Women Duathlon World Championships19:00 Medal ceremony / Gyro Park When arriving the course is operational with age group races. Keep off the field of play.

  7. Check-in procedures • The Athletes Lounge is in this room. • Stay off the course using controlled crossing points and bring all gear here to have checked • The bike check will take place just outside Salon A before athletes come in? • Racks will be provided indoors • Take all your gear from the Athletes Lounge and drop at the Bag Drop Tent in Gyro Park. Salon A will not be open after races start.

Check-in procedures Athletes Lounge • Bike check: handlebars, wheels & spare wheels (non authorized UCI wheels rule) • Helmet – stickers, cracks, strap snug • Uniform check (name, country, logos, ITU logo, zippers) – photos taken of each uniform. Wearing other uniform during the race = DSQ! • Body marking check (both arms, both legs) • Timing chip distribution

Check-in procedures Transition Area • Helmet check- Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who misses to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. • Running shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike • Drop spare wheels at the Team Wheel-Stop located past the mount line. • To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Race Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Athletes‘ Briefing.

  10. Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: • 10 minutes before start, line-up in Transition • Jog to the start line after your name is called • Select your position and stay behind the line!

  11. Start Procedure Athletes in position: • The start can be given any timeafter the TD announces ”On your mark” • Air horn blast • The race starts

  13. The Course Run 1 2 Laps of 2.5 km = 5 km Bike 2 Laps of 10.2 km = 20.4 km Run 2 1 Laps of 2.5 km = 2.5 km

Run course 1 • 2 laps / counter-clockwise • Flat / On pavement along Lakeshore Dr. • Run through transition after completion of first lap to start your second lap. • Aid stations: • 2 per lap • For locations see the map • Controlled water & sport drink served in cups • Discard cups off course in discard zone.

  16. Transition 1 • Traditional Bike Racks – one row. • Running shoes in front of the box, helmet on the bike • Mount line at the end of the Transition.

  17. Bike course • 2 laps= 20.4 km / Clockwise – keep left • Ride through transition after first lap • Total elevation gain of 280m • 2 Wheel Stations • Team / drop wheels when checking into TZ. Label them. • Neutral / can be accessed twice on each lap. • Lap Counter at transition / No aid station • Lapped athletes are out of the race • First runner – managed last biker case at Finish Line

  21. Run 2 • 1 lap = 2.5km • Aid stations: • Two per lap • For locations see the map • Controlled water & sport drink served in cups • Discard plastic bottles off course in discard zone. • Video Finish • Avoid Congestion in finish area: • Go to mixed zone / recovery area

Run Penalty Box The penalty box is for infringements in: TA1, bike and TA2 e.g.: Mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, discharge or store your equipment outside your designated area, rack the bike outside your own space etc (Transition will be videotaped for infringements) Location: Prior to Finish Line Chute Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board – coachesareadvisedtocheck and informtheirathletes) Procedure: 10 second time penalty must be served before finish. If you don’t stop DSQ

  24. Run Penalty Box Rule interpretation Mount after the mount line: It has to be one contact of the athlete foot with the floor after the mount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as mount the bike before the mount line. Dismount before the dismount line: It has to be one contact of the athlete foot with the floor before the dismount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as dismount the bike before the dismount line. Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area: Leaving the equipment (helmet, etc.) in the designated box. Rack the bike inside your own space: The bike must be racked with at least one side of the handlebar or the seat post within 0,5m to the name plate.

Post-race Procedures Anti-Doping Control • Photo ID is needed for every athlete to have ready for Doping Control Medical • Only accredited team medicalallowed in this area when an athlete from their team is being attended to. Every NF can have 1 team medical upgade pass, but only for team doctors!

  26. Coaches areas Coaches Accreditation • All coachesmust have accreditation to enter the venue. • Coaches can access location beside the Penalty Box and Recovery
