The beginning of a boat • The u.s.s enterprise is an aircraft carrier. • Uss Enterprise was built in 1935. • It was in battles such as the battle of the coral sea and midway. • At the end of the second world war it was the most decorated ship in the world. • It was brought up on dry dock many times to be repaired. • When the world war 2 ended it was crushed and the parts wre turned into cars and refrigerator. • Since then several modern versions have been created.

  3. Tanks • Tanks are heavy war machines. • They carry a large cannon on the top. • Most tanks have 2 machine guns. • Some tanks can fire missiles. • Tanks are heavy because they have a thick covering of steel.

Tanks • A cannon shell or missile can pierce the tanks covering. • Battle tanks can crush almost anything that stands in their way. • Britain used the first tanks in 1916. • Tanks can travel at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. • Tanks have tracks that make it possible to travel across rough ground that might stop a car or truck.

War planes • The airplane was invented in 1903 and soon became an important war weapon. • In WW1 they used hand grenades as bombs when they threw them out of airplanes. • Bomber planes drop bombs on soldiers’ supplies and territories to try to slow down the advance. • Missiles are used to destroy bombers. They are called s.a.m.s or surface to air missiles.

  6. Warplanes • The first ever jet aircraft was made during WW2 by Germanys air force the luftwaffe. • Today most nations have an air force for their defence. • Radar is used to detect any aircraft flying overhead. • An airforce protects a country from attack by air.

  7. Guns • Muskets were used during the Napoleonic Wars. • Muskets are guns which shout big round metal balls. • Artillary guns are used to launch shells on enemies.During the Napoleonic wars they lit a fuse and launched a metal ball at the enemy.

Guns • The first assault rafie was made by the germans in WW2.it was called the stg 44. • There are hundreds of different kinds of guns like the stg 44,mp 40,B.A.R,mi grand and the thomson. • Magazines are metal containers which hold bullets. • Most magzines are straight. They are smaller and easier to carry but carry less bullets.
