  3. PURPOSE We would like to know what Bresadola people think about household roles. For this reason we have compared the teachers ideas with the students ones and the male students ideas with the female students ideas .

  4. QUESTIONS • Are there any differences between teachers and students ideas? • Are there any differences between male and female students ideas?

  5. HYPOTHESES • The age has an effect on ideas about the household roles. • The gender has an effect on students ideas about the houseold roles.

  6. RESEARCH METHOD: • Wehavedevelopedtworesearchquestions; • Wehaveformedtwohypothesis; • Wehavemade a questionnarieaboutourquestions and aboutourhypothesis; • Wehavegiven out the questionnarietothreeclasses and to a fewteachers; • Wehavegathered data and wehavecreated a file; • Wehaveanalyzed data (with Excel); • Wehaveusedgraphsto show the results; • Wehavedrawnourconclusion.

  7. CONCLUSION: The female and male answers are similar for several aspects. In this case, we can notice the usual stereotypes about gender household roles (for example: mothers cook, whereas fathers do DIY jobs). However, some of our results show that female students think that both parents may do different activities .

  8. Because only few teachers answered our questionnaire, we have taken into consideration our first questions and our first hypothesis, so we have only analyzed students’ answers”.

  9. We notice the highest difference between female and male students about ‘both parents cook’.

  10. In this case, we don’t notice any big differences between the female and male answers. Most students think mothers iron.

  11. Like in the previous case, most students think mothers wash clothes.

  12. Also in this case, females and males give similar answers; they think both parents have a job.

  13. Female and male students give similar answers: they believe both parents take the most important decisions for the family.

  14. No big differences are noticed for this question.

  15. Most students think mothers do the housework, but we notice an important difference between males and females answers about fathers housework role.

  16. Here, a big difference emerges about the third answer: 79.3% of female students suppose both parents help children to do homework, the male percentage is 51.7%.

  17. A relevant difference arises about free time for parents. There are more male students which think that father has more free time .

  18. The majority of female and male students think fathers do DIY jobs .

  19. Thanks for your attention
