  5. Result of Peace of Westphalia • Ended religious wars in Europe • Peace of Augsburg (1555) reinforced • Calvinism now included • Sovereignty of Holy Roman Empire divided • About 300 German princes

  6. His Younger Years Gottfried read philosophy and theology books (1652): His dad passed away when he was 6 years old December 1962: Graduated at age 16 with Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy Enrolled in University of Leipzig at age 14
