  2. Methods • The “Survey of Member Needs: 2010-2012” was designed to collect data and information needed by the American Association of Endodontists for use in improving member services and strategic planning. • Topics included: • Recent and anticipated future practice conditions • The Annual Session • Regenerative endodontics • Products and services • Public and professional affairs • Strategic planning issues • Overall satisfaction with AAE and the importance of current AAE services and AAE performance on these services were examined. • Demographic data was collected to profile the respondents and compare their responses. • On June 26, 2009, the survey was mailed to a 50% sample of the active and life members in the US (N=2,455) and 100% of the active and life members in Canada (N=103), for a total sample size of N=2,558. i

  3. Results • Responses from 1,086 members were received by July 27, 2009 (43% response rate). • Total results for all members combined are presented in this report. The total results based on 1,086 respondents have an accuracy of plus-or-minus 2.7%. • To compare member responses in 2009, a companion report called the Final Graphics Crosstab Report presents selected demographic data cross-tabulations. Findings from previous AAE surveys conducted in 2002 and 2003 are also compared to 2009 results in that report. • Results are presented in this report consist of computer graphics with a brief Discussion. The narrative Final Report in WORD presents full text, selected computer graphics, data tables and a narrative Discussion of the Findings with Recommendations. • Selected verbatim written comments from the respondents will also be provided in the Final Report with complete comments in a Verbatim Comments Report. ii
