  2. QUESTION ?? You thought that you should make tea for your grandma. So you went to the kitchen and prepared tea for her. And when you were about to filter the tea, you called your grandma to show her the science behind filtration. She listened to you with immense pleasure and was happy to learn from you.

  3. FILTRATION

  4. FILTRATION Filtration is commonly the mechanical or physical operation which is used for the separation of solids from fluids (liquids or gases) by interposing a medium through which only the fluid can pass. The fluid that passes through is called the filtrate. Oversize solids in the fluid are retained, but the separation is not complete; solids will be contaminated with some fluid and filtrate will contain fine particles (depending on the pore size and filter thickness)

  5. FILTRATE The liquid that can be pass through filter paper is called Filtrate.

  6. OVERSIZED RESIDUE The material that cannot be passed through filter paper or strainer is called Residueas it is very big.

  7. MEDIUM OF FILTERATION OF TEA The medium of filtration of tea is tea strainer which is placed over or in a teacup to catch loose tea leaves .
