  2. 2 Tim 1:6-8 • 5 I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. 6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

  3. 8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.

  9. 1 Pet 4:10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

  14. Power Eph 1:19-20 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

  15. Example of Jesus • Matt 17: 1 “Six days later Jesus took Peter and the two brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone” • Lk 9:28 “…Jesus took Peter, John and James up on a mountain to pray” • Matt 17:21 “…this kind of demon won’t leave except by prayer and fasting”

  16. Example of Jehu • 2 Kings 9: 2-3 “…find Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Call him into a private room away from his friends, 3 and pour the oil over his head. Say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: I anoint you to be the king over Israel.’ Then open the door and run for your life!”

  17. Love 1 Thess 3:12 “May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you.”

  18. Sound Mind/Self discipline 1 Pet 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hopethat you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
