  5. QUESTION APPLICATION RESEARCH I wonder what kind of paper would make a paper airplane fly the farthest? -different weights of paper -different folding methods Now that I understand how different materials fly through the air, I should be able to pick out the perfect kite! HYPOTHESIS TOPIC paper airplanes CONCLUSIONS I think that tissue paper will work the best BECAUSE it is the lightest of all paper and gravity won’t pull it down too fast. -Printer paper worked the best because…. -My hypothesis was NOT correct because…. DATA EXPERIMENT -gatherresults from experiment - Create a bar chart showing each paper type and the distance it traveled. -gather different types of paper, pencil, scientific journal, tape measure - write your procedure - test at least 5 times

  6. Option 1Science experiment AND display model • A display board which displays the scientific method. • Science experiment • Must meet safety standards.

  7. Option 2 – Display Board • Contains all the components of the scientific method. • Pictures of the experiment throughout the process. • Everything must be attached to the board

  8. How can I help my child begin? • There is a list of possible topics in the Science Fair planning guide. • Explore the Internet! • Go to the library and research areas of interest. • Partner with your child and brainstorm. • Once your child has an idea, submit a proposal.
