  3. Childhood • Nero was born on December 15, 37 A.D. • Nero was adopted by his grandfather when he was young. • He was born and lived in Antium, Italy ( Now it is Anzio, Italy). • Nero’s full name is, Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus. Home

  4. Death • Nero committed suicide on June 9 , 68 A.D. He did because his own military was chasing him to kill him. His last words were “Alas, what an artist is dying in me." Home

  5. Timeline of Nero • Nero was born on December 15th 37 A.D. • He ruled from 54 to 68 A.D. • He murdered his mother in 59 A.D. • In 64 A.D. Nero burned down most of Rome for his Golden palace. • He murdered a lot of aristocrats in 65 A.D. • He committed suicide on June 9th 68 A.D. Home

  6. Interesting Facts • Nero burned Christians in his garden for light at night. • Nero feed live Christians to his lions. • Nero covered Christians in tar and burned them to death. • He killed senators for questioning his methods Home

  7. Character Traits • One character traits is pyromaniac because he burned down Rome and Christians. • The second character trait is crazy because he went around just killing people. • The last character trait is he is cold hearted because he feed people alive to his lions. Home

  8. Family Tree Home • Mother- Agrippina • Step-Brother- Britannicus • 1st Wife- Octavia • 2nd Wife- Poppaea Sabina • Grandfather- Claudius • His dad Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus died when Nero was about 3 years old.

  9. Accomplishments Home • Rome's provinces were well governed and peaceful during most of Nero’s ruling. • He did not have many accomplishments but he is well known for the Burning of Rome.

  10. Use or Abuse? • Nero abused power because he murdered innocent people and burned down Rome for his palace. That is how Nero abused power. Home

  11. Contributions to Rome • He had negative contributions because Rome had to rebuild after he burned it down to the ground. • Another negative contribution was a bunch of people in Rome were killed for no reason. Home
