Measuring Lung Volume • 4. remove cap • 5. insert tube (ensure tube end is within jug mouth) • 6. sterilize tube • blow steadily AS MUCH AIR AS POSSIBLE IN ONE BREATH • DO NOT INHALE!! 1. ensure jug completely full 9. remove tube 10. cap jug with hand 2. cap jug with hand • 11. invert jug • allow water level to steady • read volume (in liters) • record volume on computer or blackboard. 3. keeping capped, invert jug so mouth submerged
