  4. The Kingdom of God • The Kingdom of God was the central message of Jesus. • He refered to “The kingdom of God”or its equivalent one hundred times.

  5. The Kingdom of God • JesuswentthroughoutGalilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom. (Mat. 4:23) • Jesustraveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. (Luke 8:1)

  6. The Kingdom of Godis… • Heaven? • My personal spiritual life? • The institutional church? • A denomination? • Compassion, social reform, and Biblical justice? • The future reign of Jesus on the earth?

  7. The Kingdom of Godis… • More than all of these… • The Kingdom of God is the God’s reign incarnated in Christto redeemto world. • The Kingdom of Godhas already come … and itisyet to come.

  8. “God’s Kingdom was present in Jesus and demonstrated in His every word and deed. From start to finish, Jesus’ life and ministry was the expression of God’s mighty rule that had broken into history to deliver the creation and its human inhabitants from the curse of sin and death.   10. The UnshakableKingdom of God • Jesusoffers us the Kingdom! • Come, youwho are blessed by myFather; takeyourinheritance, the kingdomprepared for yousince the creation of the world. (Mat. 25:34) • We are finally“home”whenweembrace the Kingdom of God.

  11. The UnshakableKingdom of God • Therefore, sincewe are receiving a kingdomthatcannotbeshaken, let us bethankful, and soworshipGodacceptablywithreverence and awe, for ourGodis a consumingfire. (Heb. 12:28-29)

  12. The UnshakableKingdom of God • All the kingdoms of our life are shakable. Not so the UnshakableKingdom of God! • “Discover the Kingdom, surrender to the Kingdom, make the Kingdomyour life loyalty.”(E.S. Jones p. 19)

  13. The UnshakableKingdom of God • You and I have the same Father and together we pray, “Your Kingdom come!” • We pledge allegiance to the same King of kings: Jesus. • We enjoy the same privileges as citizens of the Kingdom of God.

  14. Ambassadors of the Kingdom • Jesus gave the Twelve power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to pro-claim the kingdom of God. Lk 9:1-2 • We are to proclaim the Kingdom of God in the power of the Holy Spirit.

  15. Ambassadors of the Kingdom Do not leaveJerusalem, but wait for the gift myFatherpromised, whichyou have heard me speak about. For John baptizedwith water, but in a few daysyouwillbebaptizedwith the HolySpirit. Thenthey… askedhim, Lord, are youatthis time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?(Acts 1:4-6)

  16. Ambassadors of the Kingdom He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by hisownauthority. But youwillreceive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and youwillbemywitnessesin Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:7-8)

It islikeyeastthat a wo-man took and mixed intoabout six-typounds of flouruntilitworked all through the dough. (Luke 13:20-21) YOU ARE THE YEAST OF THE WORLD!

He wentawaysad, becausehehadgreatwealth. Jesussaid… How hard itis for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! (Mark 10:21-23)

Ambassadorsof the Kingdom PURPOSEFUL COMPASSION • Our Wesley and Breseeheritagecompels us to minister to, embrace, and defend the poor, the weak, and the marginalized. • Yourthrone, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice willbe the scepter of yourkingdom. You have lovedrighteousness and hatedwickedness.(Hebrews 1:8)

  23. Ambassadorsof the KingdomPASSIONATE EVANGELISM • REPENT AND BELIEVE • JesuswentintoGalilee, proclaiming the good news of God. ‘The time has come,’ hesaid. ‘The kingdom of Godhas come near. Repent and believe the good news!’(Mark 1:14-15)
