  3. Rudolf the red nose reindeer (Imagine That!) is trying to write an expression equal to 10 that uses five 9’s and any signs in arithmetic, but he’s having problems expressing his thoughts with his clumsy hooves. Can you help Rudolf?

  4. In a generous mood during Christmas, Lauren gave half the money she happened to have to Lyndsey. Not to be outdone, Lyndsey then gave one quarter of the money she then had to Lauren. Each of them ended up with an amazing 75 cents! How much did each have at the start?

  5. One Christmas, Santa was flying his sleigh very carelessly. In avoiding a 747, Santa turned abruptly to the left and threw off half of his toys plus half a toy. Then, getting caught in a nasty down current, Santa accidentally threw off half of his remaining toys plus half a toy. Despite all of this, all toys remained whole, and the number of toys left on Santa’s sleigh was 20. How many toys started on this treacherous ride?
