  3. Commendation for Intergenerational eTwinning (Post Primary)

  4. This multilateral project was inspired by a Spanish film called Arrugas (or Wrinkles). It project aimed to enable pupils and elders to hear from each other's realities, fears and dreams, past and presents, from one country to another, to learn from each other and on what they can do together for a better future.   5. Judge’s Comment “A great project and one which can become model project for other schools to use. Wish you best of luck for your on-going links with the community in the area and I'm sure that you have given ideas to other schools on how to develop important skills in young people by engaging with the older generation.”

  6. Commendation for Intergenerational eTwinning (Primary)

  7. School Dingwall Academy Project Granny's Gifts Teacher Leontia Fegan This intergenerational project was designed to access, record and disseminate the wisdom and knowledge of older family members who have lived through significant historical times.

  8. Judge’s Comment “A great idea of linking with the past to better understand the future. A good project with lots of potential for the future. This project engages the local community can be used by other schools. Good luck with all your future international links.”

  9. Commendation for Use of eTwinning in a Comenius Partnership

  10. School Dunston Primary School Project The Magic Frames Teacher Christine Collings The Magic Frames project revolves around the cultures of five different European countries. Each partner country presents four categories of their regions, historic places, traditional costumes, regional dishes and natural landmarks.

  11. Judge’s Comment “An extremely well documented projects.” “The website was exciting and fun to visit and am sure lots of people have engaged with it..”

  12. Commendation for Cross-curricular integration

  13. School Audenshaw School Academy Trust Project Climate Change Teacher Tim Shanker This project covers the impact of Climate Change, sharing ideas on how to empower pupils and schools in Europe to reduce the causes of this global issue.

  14. Judge’s Comment “This was a well-planned project with clear objectives. The project has good support from the leadership team which is critical for the long term sustainability of the international dimension in the school. Well done and keep your high energy up and involving your students in collaboration and developing the international dimension in your school..”

  15. Commendation for Inclusive & Diverse eTwinning

  16. School The Dales School Project Effective Communication with children who have special needs Teacher Hugh Steele This project supports the teaching and learning of children with special needs, drawing on the strengths of European partners in specific special education provision and inclusive practice in mainstream schools to better understand each countries approach to effective communication by and with children..

  17. Judge’s Comment This is an outstanding project, meticulously planned and executed, with the best interests of the students, teachers and other professionals involved in the education at the heart of the planning. I would love to see this project disseminated as best practice among other professionals, it is both inspiring and uplifting to witness such dedication of staff

  18. Commendation for Student engagement

School St John Fisher Catholic High School Project European comedy Teacher Rachel Brooks A contest was created for pupils to write original comedy plays, not only did they write the plays but they also created posters, costumes and become movie makers! The winning play was then preformed in front their Comenius partners in Harrogate this April..

  20. Judge’s Comment There is excellent documentation of evidence on the TwinSpace and it is clear that everybody on the project was motivated and had a great time! The project supported development of new pedagogies to teach English language and literature and can be a model for other subjects to use. This product introduced the element of “fun into learning”!

  21. Commendation for Creative Language Learning (Post-Primary)

  22. School Winchester College Project Moi, toi, lettres à nous Teacher David Ceiriog Hughes A French language project undertaken by classes of pupils in the U.K, Portugal, France, Poland and Italy. Pupils wrote letters which were collated and published online. The pupils themselves evaluated the project, identifying how it had helped their command of French and their ICT skills.

  23. Judge’s Comment “The final product for this project was superb - a simple idea coupled with effective use of ICT ( digital book) had so much more impact than simple word documents. I particularly like the way you set up the project with monthly input and a great evaluation.”

  24. Commendation for Creative Language Learning (Primary)

  25. School Eastburn Junior and Infant School Project Videoconferencingproject/ Projet de visioconférence Teacher Diana Linford Video-conferencing was used by pupils to share information about themselves in order to practice foreign language with peers who were native speakers.

  26. Judge’s Comment “The project has a clear focus on language learning between two schools, and the activities were directed towards this objective. I’m impressed that you are now supporting other teachers in the different schools where you work to become involved in eTwinning and sharing what you have learned. I loved the monster pictures that the children drew after they wrote their descriptions!”

  27. Commendation for Early Years eTwinning

  28. School Webster Primary School Project We are the pirates- Pirates Adventure Teacher Barbara Kurzak Education through play provided opportunities to organise creative activities in mathematics, language-literacy, art, music and technology.

  29. Judge’s Comment “I loved this project - it involved so many excited children, teachers and parents. The theme was engaging for all the participants and the activities were varied and stretched the imagination in full !”

  30. Commendation for Use of ICT

  31. School Shaw Wood Primary Project YES- Young Europeans Speak Teacher Patrick Carroll Pupils from many countries talk about themselves, their schools, their towns, hobbies and lives using a wealth of technology. Different monthly themes were used to generate discussions which were then shared.

  32. Judge’s Comment “Wow, meticulous information for this project! Great use of video and special effects for the European language week - an inspiring project.”

  35. Judge’s Comment “An exceptional demonstration of commitment to e twinning. There are some lovely activities within these projects which embrace the international dimension. I particularly like the powerpoint which describes the global citizens within the school.”
