Building on success from 2013 November 2013 National Apprenticeship Week 2013 resulted in: 2,652 items of media coverage mentioning the Week(1,800 in 2012) 984 events, 58% public awareness(44% in 2012) 13 times more tweets than in 2012 18,000 online apprentice registrations 600 more employer enquiries

National Apprenticeship Week 2014 November 2013 Our 2014 theme Great Apprenticeships “Great Businesses” are made by apprentices and Apprenticeships lead to “Great Prospects.” It is about demonstrating that Apprenticeships are great for businesses, personal careers and creating opportunities for both employers and apprentices. The hashtag - #NAW2014 will be promoted throughout the campaign

  7. National Apprenticeship Week –Pledgometer November 2013 Pledge apprentice job vacancies using our new ‘pledgometer’ available at apprenticeships.org.uk The final tally will be revealed on the last day of NAW2014

  8. NAW 14Toolkits November 2013 Toolkit has been produced which contains lots more ideas and links to supporting resources – these are now available to download. In response to feedback from stakeholders, several shorter easy printable versions have been developed, tailored to specific audiences: Employers Providers and Colleges Schools Sector Skills Councils and other partners Apprentices and former apprentices

  13. Ideas November 2013 Employers you work with could host an event with their supply chain or other organisations in their networks to encourage those that don’t currently have apprentices or offer Traineeships to consider introducing them

  14. Ideas November 2013 Encourage employers to arrange a ‘Made by apprentices’ open day at their premises for visitors, where potential apprentices and their parents get the opportunity to see first hand the contribution apprentices make to businesses

  15. Ideas November 2013 Tweet or post on Facebook pictures of apprentices at work using the hashtag #Madebyapprentices If you have a key fact on what apprentices have delivered, we can create ‘facts of the week’

  16. Ideas November 2013 Work with your networks and employers to invite a local MP for a workplace tour or ‘job shadow’ with some of their apprentices A journalistfrom your local newspaper could also come and do the job shadow as well.

NAW 14 – Stakeholder workshops The events are taking place at the following locations: • 4th December, Bristol: http://bit.ly/NAWBristol • 5th December, Birmingham: http://bit.ly/NAWBham • 12th December, Leeds: http://bit.ly/NAWLeeds • An additional session in London in January will also be arranged. It is anticipated that this will be streamed online for people who cannot attend the above workshops. • Workshops will cover NAW themes and messaging as well as advice on social media and supporting resources.   19. Brathay 2014 November 2013 Enter the Brathay Apprentice Challenge #BAC14 the official search for the apprentice team of the year. Enter by Friday 13 December 2013. Regional heats between January and March 2014. Teams will be encouraged to take part in activity throughout National Apprenticeship Week. brathay.org.uk

Marketing Update November 2013 Employer Marketing- - Direct Mail ongoing weekly followed up by TM – will run until early Jan 14 (no activity over Xmas period) - Traineeships – SBT calling 5000 employers (who have intimated they are not recruiting at the moment to offer Traineeships) – to mid Dec 13 - New creative aligned to BIS GREAT campaign – Jan 14 Traineeships - Resources website page on the Apprenticeships website Traineeships Resources page houses all marketing collateral currently produced for partners. http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/partners/traineeshipresources.aspx
