National Apprentice Week More importantly an apprenticeship is a Job with Formal Training • Leading to a recognised qualification • Can be over a number of years • Need not be a Craft ie electrical • Can be to level 2 or to level 3 depending on what the employer wants or the standards for the industry dictate.

National Apprenticeship WeekWhat qualities do I need? • Be physically fit • Be familiar with construction terms, methods, tools and materials • Have good adaptable, practical skills • Be able to follow written and verbal instructions • Be comfortable working at heights • Be able to work as part of a team

  5. National Apprenticeship Weekmore qualities….. • Understand Health and Safety Issues • Have good analytical skills • Understand engineering drawings • Be well organised • Have good communication, presentation and negotiating skills • Have commercial awareness
