  2. Union Indenture Agreement • Is between apprentice and local JATC • Includes length and wage rates • Allows for probationary period • Holds apprentice responsible for attending class

  3. Scholarship Loan Agreement • A pledge to work 10 years in union-contract covered employment • If not, cost of training must be refunded • Includes years of apprenticeship • Rigorously enforced

  4. Role of the Apprentice: • Be on time and motivated • Bring correct tools • Keep training materials • Follow directions • Use apprentice resources

  5. Conclusion Embarking on an apprenticeship, like embarking on any other career path, is filled with obligations and learning. You’ll start at the bottom of the totem pole, it’s true, but you’ll soon rise, and, as you’ve seen elsewhere, you’ll quickly be able to take on more responsibilities if you like. Plus, you’ll have skills that will enable you to earn a living for the rest of your life.
