Biography • Salma Hayek’s birth name is Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimenez. • She was born on September 2, 1966 in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico. • Her mother, Diana Jimenez Hayek, is an opera singer. Her father, Sami Hayek, is in management at an oil company.Her brother, Sami Hayek Jr., is a custom chair designer for celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. • She is married to Francois-Henri Pinault and has a daughter named Valentina Paloma Pinault. • When Salma was 12, she attended a boarding school in New Orleans, but was quickly expelled for pranking the nuns. • She went to Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City to study acting. • She came to Hollywood when she was 24. • Salma tiene cuarenta y seis años. • Ella es una famosa actriz.

Acting Accomplishments • Salma’sfirst role was a minor part in the soap opera called Nuevo Amanecer in Mexico. • In 1995, she got her first big role in the United States in the movie Desperado starring with Antonio Banderas. • In the movie Fools Rush In, she gets her first listing as a lead star. • In 2002, Salma produced and starred in the movie Frida which is about Frida Kahlo, a Mexican painter.
